A prayer shawl symbolizes the love and faith of our community here at Risen Savior. The shawls are given to people who are going through a difficult time in their lives, facing serious illness, physical or emotional trauma. The shawl is the loving work of a person’s hands, as they craft the garment with unconditional love and prayer. The shawl is meant to encircle, comfort, give solace, warm and hug the one to whom it is given. As each person is unique, each prayer shawl will be uniquely crafted to remind the person that they are wrapped in love and are never alone.
The shawls are knitted/crocheted by dedicated volunteers from Risen Savior. While most of the work is done at home, we do meet every first Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the church library. We work on our shawls, pray for those who will receive them, build community and encourage each other in our work. We always have many ideas to share during our time together.
If you know of someone that would benefit from receiving a shawl or would like to be part of this ministry, please contact at 952-698-1713 or Email Diane Berg: Diane.Berg@Risensavior.org
