AUGUST MISSION TRIP
Teacher Training Program
On August 5th to 12th, the Education Committee visited Gris Gris. The primary goal was to observe and evaluate the Teacher Training Program funded by the Sister Parish Committee. Secondary goals were to meet with Father Samson regarding the Sponsor a Student Program and to review other Gris Gris projects and, finally, to strengthen bonds with our brothers and sisters in Gris Gris.
The program was a great success! Forty three teachers from St. Rose and its Chapels attended a three day training program designed and presented by three professional teachers from Jacmel and Port au Prince. This was the first professional training some of the teachers have ever received. It is hoped that we will have funding to continue the program.
