Read how some of our Risen Savior Members feel about JustFaith having been through the training:
JustFaith opened my eyes to suffering here in our community, giving me tools and courage to try to make a difference for people who don't have a strong voice. It's not that I wasn't already aware of poverty. But JustFaith helped me to see injustice, how elements of our society work, often subtly, to dominate the poor, perpetuating poverty. I think I'm more compassionate now, and I see the importance of working for change as part of the calling of my faith. Brad Craig
I had reservations about what I had to contribute to a group of educated, motivated people. But I was welcomed into a respectful, safe new family wanting to explore many of the same questions that I was struggling with: --If I follow the 10 Commandments, is that enough? --What does God want for me? --If I’m supposed to serve, whom, outside of friends family and is my neighbor? JustFaith is not designed to change your mind on any specific issue; rather to see everyday issues through a new lens and make wiser decisions. My regret is that it wasn't available 10 years ago. Nancy Stier
JustFaith has given me the tools to be an advocate for our brothers and sisters, both in America and around the world. It has helped bring an awareness of the obstacles which keep many in poverty and has educated me as to my responsibilities through the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. Brenda Craig
Recruitment going on now for JustFaith. For more info, check out the table after Mass during the next two weekends in June-June 22-23, 28-29.
