G.I.F.T. 09/10: Family Faith Under Construction
Parents and Children Grades 1 - 4
About G.I.F.T....
Recognizing that parents are the primary faith educators of their children, the G.I.F.T. (Growing In Faith Together) program incorporates both at-home and at-church elements to provide our young people with a balanced formation experience. The main components of the G.I.F.T. program are:
One: At Home Lessons
These are parent-led, family-based, multi-aged lessons from the Faith First At-Home Guide. The lessons are designed for all children in grades K-8th grade enrolled in Risen Savior programs, so your whole family can learn, pray, and grow together. Families are encouraged to set aside time, create a quiet space, and invite nurturing, open communication to get the most out of these special lessons.
Two: Student Books
Kids complete the chapters in their books each month according to the GIFT schedule. This work can be done together with parents in the home or independently (for kids able to read for themselves).
Three: Monthly G.I.F.T. Sessions at Risen Savior
Monthly large-group sessions for parents and children are held at the church. These sessions will include prayer & song, presentations, activities, and crafts designed to support the themes that families have been learning at home. These sessions also offer a chance for families to connect and experience fellowship with each other. Parents register at the beginning of the year for a specific session time.
When is my monthly GIFT Session?
G.I.F.T. A meets the first Sunday of each month from 10:15 to 11:45am. (No GIFT A in April of 2010 - attend another session)
G.I.F.T. B meets the first Wednesday of every month from 4:30 to 6:00pm.
G.I.F.T. C meets the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30 to 8:00pm
G.I.F.T. D meets the second Sunday of each month from 10:15 to 11:45am.
Please Note: if you are unable to make your “regular” session time, you may attend any of the other sessions that month!
Hearing Impaired:
We will have an ASL interpreter for the parent meeting on September 20 and at all GIFT A sessions. In April, since there is no GIFT A, the GIFT D session will be interpreted.
