Preparation for Confirmation should begin when an individual feels that she or he is ready to learn what it means to live as a fully initiated member of the Church community, generally in grade 10 or later. If that sounds like you or if you're already enrolled, then here's what else you need to know:
Preparation requires attendance at monthly Confirmation sessions with a parent or sponsor (No more than 1 absence permitted except in extreme emergencies), participation in Y.E.L.L. student sessions as scheduled or Catholic school, a weekend retreat, and various other commitments as outlined in the Confirmation Student Packet (such as Christian Service and attendance at Mass). This is a big commitment of both time and energy, but if you truly enter into the experience, it will pay off through a stronger, more owned faith and a meaningful celebration of Confirmation - the final initiation Sacrament.
(Students must be in grade 10 or above to consider preparing for Confirmation. If you are an adult (post-highschool) interested in being confirmed, please see the RCIA page.)
